Research interests
My research focus is on the investigation of causes for blood trauma in rotodynamic blood pumps by studying fluid dynamic phenomena in the blood flow. Advancing hemocompatibility of circulatory devices is part of the development of a novel pump intended to be applicable to yet unmet patient populations, such as the paediatric populations.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
In silico methods (eg. computational fluid dynamics), in-vitro experiments (hybrid test benches, animal/human blood experiments)
