In 1994 the department of Cardiothoracic surgery was split up into the divisions for Cardiac- and Thoracic surgery. Since their invention in the 1950s, cardiothoracic procedures developed over the next decades to a discipline of medical specialty, and today nearly almost any kind of cardiac desease can be treated at our Clinic. Constant effort in applied science improves prognosis and quality-of-life of our Patients.
